In search of the right words
I am a freelance translator, language editor, proofreader, and subtitler, specialising in Arts, Architecture, and Literature. My background as an architect and designer grants me a deep understanding of any subject related to the Arts & Design fields. Since 2017 I have been offering a wide range of services to the European Union, educational institutions, publishers, and writers.
Let me tell you some things about myself
• I started out as an architect and designer; I studied Architecture in Thessaloniki, Interior Design in London, then followed postgraduate studies in Graphic Arts & Multimedia. I have worked on numerous small- and large-scale design projects for more than a decade.
• Driven by a love for words and books, I decided to pursue further studies – first in Translation, then in Editing, later in Subtitling, and the list goes on.
• Since 2017, I have been the brains and heart behind WordWise, translating, editing, and proofreading texts in various fields (mainly academic texts, scientific articles, and fiction), all the while designing layouts and book covers.
• I have worked at the EU's Centre for the Development of Vocational Training [Cedefop], offering pre-editing services to the Publications Department (2018-2024).
• I work as a freelance audiovisual translator for TXR L.P. Translation & Subtitling Services.
• I am a TED Translator, helping disseminate knowledge by translating, subtitling, and transcribing TED, TEDx, and TED-Ed talks.
